Consul General Tariq Karim attended an Iftar dinner organized by the Islamic Foundation (IF) Center in Villa Park, Illinois where he was warmly received by Board of Trustees and community leaders.
During his visit, the Consul General was briefed about the history of the Center, which is one of the largest and oldest Islamic Centers in the country. He also visited the adjacent Islamic Foundation School (IFS).
Speaking on the occasion, the Consul General appreciated the Center for providing high quality community welfare and educational services. He stated that the holy month of Ramadan is a time for selflessness, reflection and compassion when we renew our shared commitment to show kindness, understanding and solidarity to one another as a human being. He also highlighted the importance of promoting friendship and interfaith harmony and serving humanity by contributing in the betterment of society.
