Consul General visits UIC, met University leadership and interacted with Pakistani students

Consul General Tariq Karim visited the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) where he had a meeting with UIC’s leadership and interaction with Pakistani students.

The Vice Chancellor and other senior management of the University welcomed the Consul General and briefed him about the UIC, including its ongoing exchanges with Pakistani institutions. The Consul General highlighted his priorities including outreaching academic institutions and connecting and engaging with Pakistani students. He discussed areas and ways to further enhance collaboration and exchanges between UIC and prominent institutions in Pakistan.

In his interaction with Pakistani students studying at UIC, the Consul General, inter alia, highlighted: various milestones Pakistan has achieved during the last 75 years: importance of Pakistan-US relations and role of Diaspora; and contribution made by the Pakistani-American community in the socio-economic development of the two countries and their bridge-building role. He urged the Pakistani students to continue their efforts for achieving academic excellence while playing an active role in the society. The interaction was followed by a lively Q&A session.
