Consul General Tariq Karim participated in a Discussion on refugees and migration, organized by The Chicago Council on Global Affairs (CCGA), a prominent think tank, for Emerging Leaders. The event was held in a hybrid format.
Speaking at the occasion, the Consul General briefed the participants on Pakistan’s overall perspective on refugees and migration, and its outstanding contribution as one of the world’s largest refugee-hosting countries. He also shared with them Pakistan’s success stories in the management of millions of Afghan Refugees-full of exemplary generosity and compassion-and challenges like the recent climate-induced catastrophic floods in Pakistan.
The Consul General also highlighted the commendable role being played by Pakistani Diaspora around the world, including the vibrant Pakistani-American community and their contribution in the socio-economic development of the two countries.
