Consul General Tariq Karim attended an event held in Glendale Heights, Illinois, to celebrate the Pakistan Independence Day. He hoisted the Pakistan flag and cut the Pakistan Day cake. The event was attended by a large number of people, including elected officials. Speaking at the occasion, the Consul General congratulated the Pakistani- American community on Pakistan’s Independence Day. He, inter alia, highlighted: the historic significance of the Independence Day; Pakistan as an important business and tourist destination; and role of the vibrant Pakistani-American community in the socio-economic development of the two countries. He encouraged the Pakistani diaspora to continue to play their role as a bridge between the two countries.
