Consul General Tariq Karim attended an event in Glendale Heights, Illinois, to celebrate Pakistan Independence Day. Alongside Mayor Chodri Ma Khokhar of Glendale Heights, he hoisted the Pakistan flag and cut the Pakistan Day cake. The event was attended by a large number of people, including elected officials.
Speaking at the occasion, the Consul General congratulated the Pakistani-American community on Pakistan’s Independence Day, emphasizing the historic significance of the day. He highlighted Pakistan as an important business and tourist destination. He also emphasized the contribution made by the vibrant Pakistani-American community to the socio-economic development of the two countries and urged them to continue playing their role as bridge-builders.
Pakistani singers also performed during a musical segment at the event.
