Consul General Tariq Karim attended a community event in Lancing, Michigan. Organized by Pakistan Association of Lancing, the event was attended by a large number of Pakistani-American community members. State Rep. Julie Brixie and Pakistani actress Fazeela Qazi were also present.
Speaking at the occasion, Consul General Tariq Karim, inter alia, highlighted: Pakistan as an important business and tourist destination; his key priorities as Consul General and Pakistan’s growing partnership with the US Midwest region as reflected in rising trade, investment and people-to-people interactions; and contribution made by the vibrant Pakistani-American community in the socio-economic development of the two countries and their bridge-building role.
In his meeting with State Rep. Ms. Julie Brixie, the Consul General exchanged views on ways to promote mutually beneficial economic and civic partnership between Pakistan and Michigan.
During the visit, the Consul General also interacted with community members and businessmen and responded to their queries. He urged the community members to continue to play their role in the socio-economic development of Pakistan and assured them of the Consulate’s full support in this regard.
