Consul General Tariq Karim attended an event, “Nuskhah e Dard e Ishq”, organized by Urdu Institute at the Sabeel Center in Des Plaines, Illinois. The program featured Dr. Marcia Hermansen, Professor and Director of Islamic World Studies Program at Loyola University’s Department of Theology. She spoke on her thoughts and expertise as an author of many publications on Islamic Studies, Sufism and other issues.
Speaking on the occasion, the Consul General appreciated the role of scholars to promote scholarship and mutual understanding. He also highlighted the importance of interfaith harmony and dialogue among civilizations to promote global peace and other common objectives for the welfare of humanity.
The event was attended by a large number of people from different walks of life, including members of Pakistani-American community.
