Consul General attends Christmas Event in Illinois, extends warm greetings

Consul General Tariq Karim attended an event, organized by the Christ Church of Pakistan (CCP), to celebrate Christmas in Illinois. A large number of members of Pakistani-American Christian community in Illinois attended the event.
Speaking at the occasion, the Consul General extended his warmest felicitations to the Christian community in the U.S. and around the world on the auspicious occasion of Christmas. He stated that the spirit of Christmas festivities is to share, reach out and love humanity.
 
The Consul General stated that Pakistan holds sacrosanct the principle of equal rights and freedom for all citizens, irrespective of belief or religion – a commitment based on the Quaid’s vision and guarantees provided in the Constitution. He highlighted various steps taken by Pakistan to empower minorities and promote interfaith harmony. The Consul General also lauded the contribution made by the Pakistani-Christian community in the socio-economic development of Pakistan.
