Consul General Tariq Karim attended the Indiana 2024 Global Economic Summit held in Indianapolis. During the summit, the Consul General interacted with elected officials, including Indiana Governor Hon. Eric J. Holcomb and Speaker of Indiana House of Representatives Mr. Todd Huston, as well as entrepreneurs, thought leaders, and policy makers.
Speaking at a session on Subnational Diplomacy, the Consul General emphasized the significant role that substantial partnerships at the state/province and city/local levels play in fostering international relations. He emphasized the significance of sister-city and sister-state relationships, mentioning that Pakistan enjoys three sister-city relations in the Midwest region. He also underscored the importance of further expanding mutually beneficial partnerships between Pakistan and Indiana.
The Consul General also met with a group of community leaders and businessmen in Indianapolis and encouraged them to continue to play their active role in the socio-economic development of the two countries.
