Consul General Tariq Karim attended an event held in Chicago to introduce and promote the Pakistan Cultural Garden in Cleveland. The event, organized by the Pakistan Cultural Garden Board, was attended by members of the Pakistani-American community.
The Board members of Pakistan Cultural Garden and other speakers emphasized the significance of Pakistan Cultural Garden in Cleveland as a part of the historical Cleveland Cultural Gardens founded in 1916, hosting cultural gardens of various nationalities. It was highlighted that the Pakistan Garden project, which plans to develop beautiful thematic gardens, surrounding a replica of Minar-e-Pakistan at the center with Pakistan’s flag flying high at the top,
will become a unique landmark of Pakistan in the US.
Speaking at the occasion, the Consul General lauded the Cultural Garden Board and the Pakistani community in Cleveland for their efforts to realize the Pakistan Cultural Garden initiative. He expressed confidence that, upon completion, the garden will truly represent Pakistan’s historical richness, cultural heritage and contemporary arts, hospitality and majestic landscapes, besides promoting mutual understanding and friendship through this diverse platform of cultural affinity. He encouraged the community members to extend their support in making the Pakistan Cultural Garden initiative a success which will not only showcase Pakistan to the broader public but also help in connecting our next generations to their roots in Pakistan. He also urged them to continue to actively contribute in the socio-economic development of the two countries and promoting the true image of Pakistan.
