Consul General leads Pakistan Independence Day Parade

Consul General Tariq Karim led the Pakistan Independence Day Parade on Chicago’s Devon Avenue (also known as Muhammad Ali Jinnah Way). The parade was attended by a large number of people, including elected officials. Speaking at the occasion, the Consul General congratulated the members of the Pakistani-American community on the 77th Anniversary of Pakistan’s Independence Day, emphasizing the historical significance of the occasion and the vibrant role of the Pakistani-American community. Recalling Quaid’s principles of Unity, Faith, and Discipline, he urged community members to renew their commitment to Pakistan and continue to play an active role in promoting Pak-U.S. relations.

The parade was part of a long series of festivities being organized to celebrate the Independence Day of Pakistan. The Consulate General will hold a flag hoisting ceremony and cultural show at Chicago’s Daley Plaza on August 13, 2024.
