Consul General visits Palatine Gurdwara

Consul General Tariq Karim visited Sikh Religious Society (SRS) Palatine Gurdwara (IL). He was warmly received by the President and Board of Directors of the SRS and invited to speak to a large number of attendees at the Gurdwara.
 
Speaking at the occasion, the Consul General highlighted Pakistan’s unwavering commitment and efforts to promote religious freedom, harmony and tourism. He said that Pakistan attached the highest respect and sanctity to places of worship of all religions. Referring to the landmark opening of the Kartarpur Corridor, the Consul General stated that the Corridor has not only fulfilled the earnest desire of the Sikh community around the world for easy access to one of their most reverential sites, but is also reflective of the primacy that Pakistan accords to all the religious minorities in the country.
 
The Consul General also briefed the audience on the tourist-friendly measures introduced to ease travel of Sikh pilgrims to Pakistan, which hosts some of the most sacred places of Sikh religion. He also apprised them of the work being carried out to renovate, expand and preserve various Gurdwaras in Pakistan.
