In his remarks, Consul General Tariq Karim highlighted various dimensions of the Jammu & Kashmir dispute and the worsening human rights and humanitarian situation in IIOJK since August 5, 2019, including India’s attempts to change the demographic structure and political landscape of the occupied territory, in contravention of international law and the UNSC resolutions. The Consul General expressed solidarity with the oppressed people of IIOJK while reaffirming the strong resolve of the government and people of Pakistan to continue extending moral, political and diplomatic support to their just and legitimate struggle for the right to self-determination.
