Consul General attends AKU Event
Consul General Tariq Karim attended a program held to welcome a visiting delegation of Aga Khan University (AKU) from Pakistan.
Speaking at the occasion, the Consul General, inter alia, highlighted: AKU’s accomplishments as a prestigious institution of international repute and its role in encouraging excellence in Pakistan’s healthcare sector; his priorities as Consul General, which inter alia, include pursuing economic diplomacy to promote Pakistan’s economic partnership with the Midwest region in various sectors, including trade and investments, IT and technology transfer, tourism, agriculture; and, contribution made by the Pakistani-American community, especially professionals and entrepreneurs, in the socio-economic development of the two countries. The Consul General encouraged investors, entrepreneurs and professionals to benefit from liberal investment polices/business opportunities in Pakistan as reflected by rapid emergence of Pakistan’s tech ecosystem/start-ups, while focusing on technology transfer and innovation.
