Consul General Tariq Karim attends Christmas Event in Illinois

Consul General Tariq Karim attended an event organized by the Christ Church of Pakistan to celebrate Christmas in Illinois. A large number of members of Pakistani-American Christian community attended the program.
Speaking at the occasion, the Consul General extended his warmest felicitations to the Christian community in the U.S. and across the world on the joyous occasion of Christmas. He stated that the spirit of Christmas is to share happiness, to reach out and love all humanity.

The Consul General highlighted various steps taken by the Government of Pakistan to empower minorities. He stated that the Government of Pakistan holds sacrosanct the principle of equal rights and freedom for all citizens, irrespective of belief or religion – a commitment based on the vision of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and inviolable guarantees of our Constitution.

The Consul General said that minorities in Pakistan were actively contributing to the development and prosperity of the country. He commended the contribution made by the Pakistani-Christian community in the socio-economic development of Pakistan.
