Consul General interacts with Pakistani community/businessmen

Consul General visits Devon Avenue

Consul General Tariq Karim inaugurated a Pakistani business at Chicago’s Devon Avenue (Muhammad Ali Jinnah Street). In his brief remarks at the occasion, the Consul General highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship for Pakistani-American community. He appreciated the community’s efforts to expand their businesses and economic footprint in the local market, which in turn, also helps increase exports of our traditional items. The Consul General also expressed hope that, with Illinois entering Phase-5 of its reopening, economic and commercial activities would resume with full swing thus creating more opportunities for businesses.

After the event, the Consul General undertook a visit of the Devon Avenue and met a number of Pakistani-American businessmen and entrepreneurs. He lauded their efforts for setting up successful enterprises and assured them of Pakistan Consulate General’s full support and cooperation.

He also highlighted the promotion of economic diplomacy and facilitation of overseas Pakistanis as key priorities of the Government.
