Chodri MA Khokhar, Mayor of Glendale Heights, Illinois, welcomed Consul General Tariq Karim at his Office at Glendale Heights. Mr. Khokhar is amongst the elected officials of Pakistani origin in the U.S.
During the visit, Mayor Khokhar and senior officials briefed the Counsel General on the working of various departments in the Glendale Heights region. They also exchanged views on ways to enhance mutually beneficial cooperation between the two sides.
The Consul General thanked Mayor Khokhar and his team for their warm reception and said that in addition to enhancing bilateral political, economic & trade relations and providing quality services to Pakistani-American community, promoting mutual understanding and people-to-people contacts between Pakistan and the U.S. Midwest region was his key priority. He also lauded the role of Pakistani-American community as a bridge between the two countries to promote shared objectives.
