During his visit to #Nebraska, Consul General Tariq Karim’s engagements, besides his meeting with State Governor Honorable Pete Ricketts, included: an interaction with a group of Pakistani-American community in Nebraska; visit to the University of Nebraska’s iExcel Centre in Omaha and Innovation Centre in Lincoln; meeting at Gavilon Group office (related to grain marketing); and, briefing at Omaha based Lindsay Corporation HQs (a manufacturer of Zimmatic brand Centre pivot irrigation systems, and infrastructure). In his interactions, the Consul General encouraged companies to benefit from business opportunities and liberal investment regime in Pakistan. The visit provided an opportunity to deliberate on ways and means to expand Pakistan’s economic and commercial ties with the U.S. Midwest region in general and Nebraska in particular.
In his meeting with community representatives, the Consul General briefed them about various initiatives taken by the government to facilitate the overseas Pakistanis and encouraged them to continue to play proactive role in the socio-economic development of Pakistan.
