East-West University hosts welcome reception for the Consul General

Counsel General Tariq Karim was warmly welcomed by Chancellor Dr. M. Wasiullah Khan and senior faculty members of the East-West University, based in Chicago. A number of community members, academicians and journalists also attended. The Consul General was briefed about the history and programs offered by the University.

In his address, the Consul General thanked Dr. Wasiullah Khan and his team for their warm reception and briefing. He remarked the East-West University as a reputable institution providing high quality, multi-cultural and affordable education to its scholars. He lauded the contribution made by academicians and professionals of Pakistani descent, like Dr. Wasiullah Khan, in the socio-economic development of the two countries.

The Consul General highlighted his priorities which, inter alia, included: actively engaging the Pakistani-American community as a bridge between the two countries; outreaching local dignitaries and institutions to promote mutually beneficial partnership and people-to-people interactions; and, pursuing economic diplomacy. He encouraged the members of Pakistani-American community to continue to play their leading role in this regard while assuring them Consulate’s full support and cooperation.
