Mehfil-e-Milad event celebrated in Chicago
A Mehfil-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) was organized at the residence of Consul General. The event, led by Aasma Tariq, wife of Consul General Tariq Karim, was attended by a large number of ladies from the Pakistani-American community. There was recitation of Naat-e-Rasool and speeches. Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Aasma Tariq highlighted Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as messenger of peace and tolerance for humanity. Mehfil-e-Milad event was followed by a meeting which deliberated on ways and means, including a dedicated forum for ladies, to promote cultural linkages and people-to-people interactions between Pakistan and the US Midwest region. Mrs. Aasma Tariq encouraged the participants to play an active role in promotion of culture and soft image of the country.
