Consul General Tariq Karim visited the State of Kansas and Kansas City, where he held interactions with members of the Pakistani-American Diaspora, business community, elected officials and think tanks.
Speaking at a community event organized by Pakistan American Society of Greater Kansas City, the Consul General briefed the community on business and investment opportunities in Pakistan, Pakistan’s growing partnership with the Midwest region and various consular services being provided by the Consulate. The Consul General lauded the Pakistani- American community for their outstanding accomplishments and contribution in the socio-economic development of the two countries. He encouraged the community members to demonstrate unity and solidarity among themselves and continue to work for promotion of true image of Pakistan.
During his visit, the Consul General visited the Command and General Staff College (CGSC) at Fort Leavenworth, KS where he was received and briefed by Director IMSD James F. Fain. He also visited the Headquarters of a non-profit disaster relief organization, Heart to Heart International, where he was briefed on the organization’s mission and initiatives. The Consul General thanked the organization for their valuable support to the victims of catastrophic climate-induced floods in Pakistan last year.
The Consul General also spoke at International Relations Council (IRC) and World Trade Center Kansas City (KC Chamber).
During his visit, the Consul General also visited the spot where Pakistan’s first Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan gave an address at UMKC in 1950.
