Consul General Tariq Karim attended the annual event of King Edward Medical College Alumni Association of North America (KEMCAANA) held in Oakbrook, Illinois, where he was welcomed by KEMCAANA President Dr. Irfan Munir, Dr. Omar Nasib & other members of the host committee.
The event was attended by a large number of community members and medical alumni living and working in the US.
Speaking at the occasion as Chief Guest, the Consul General highlighted the King Edward Medical College (KEMC) as one of the most prestigious institutions in Pakistan which has a long and illustrious history of producing some of the finest healthcare professionals, many of whom have made a significant impact on the healthcare landscape across the world.
The Consul General lauded the contribution made by the Pakistani-American community and professionals of Pakistani descent in the socio-economic development of the two countries and their bridge-building role. He appreciated their investing back in Pakistan through philanthropy, healthcare, education and research. He encouraged Pakistani physicians and their organizations like APPNA, PPS and KEMCAANA to continue to play their active role in the socio-economic development of Pakistan through capacity-building and technology/expertise sharing initiatives while assuring them the Consulate’s full support in this regard.
The 2-day alumni event also had cultural performances by prominent Pakistani singer Asim Azhar and Qawal Rafaqat Ali Khan.
