Consul General attended a community event in Michigan

During his visit to Michigan, Consul General Tariq Karim attended a community event held in Troy to celebrate Pakistan Day alongwith an inter-faith Iftar. The event was also attended by a large number of Pakistani-American community members in Michigan and representatives of various faiths.
 
Speaking at the occasion, the Consul General highlighted the significance of Pakistan Day while paying tribute to the Father of Nation and other leaders of the Pakistan Movement. He stated that, despite various challenges and odds, Pakistan has achieved many milestones in the last 75 years. The Consul General emphasized Pakistan as an important business and tourist destination. He also highlighted the growing Pak-US trade and economic partnership and role of the vibrant Pakistani-American community. The Consul General also appreciated the efforts to promote inter-faith harmony and mutual understanding.
 
Other speakers highlighted Pakistan as one of the world most hospitable countries, sharing their own experiences with warm and welcoming people of Pakistan.
 
During the visit, the Consul General also interacted with community members and businessmen and responded to their queries. He urged the community members to continue to play their role in the socio-economic development of Pakistan and assured them of the Consulate’s full support in this regard.
