Consul General Tariq Karim met Mayor Mike Duggan of Detroit at his office in Detroit, Michigan. The mayor warmly welcomed the Consul General and briefed him about the city and its economic revitalization.
During the interaction, they exchanged views on promoting mutually beneficial economic and civic partnership and people-to-people contacts. The Consul General highlighted the significance of Pak-US partnership and the contribution made by the Pakistani-American community in the socio-economic development of the two countries and their bridge-building role. He stated that, in view of Detroit being an important city in the Midwest, the Consulate would like to work with the city government to enhance collaboration between Pakistan and Detroit in trade and investment, auto, tech and education sectors.
