Consul General Tariq Karim attended the Aalmi Naat Conference & Grand Aalmi Naatia Mushaira organized by Sukhanwar Chicago & Hareem-e-Naat at the Sabeel Center in Illinois.
The conference, which featured renowned poets from around the world, served as a platform for promoting Naat, Urdu poetry and cultural exchanges. There was also a book launch of “Baad-az-khuda”, written by Chicago-based Urdu poet Abid Rasheed.
Speaking at the occasion, the Consul General appreciated the role of Pakistani Diaspora in promoting Pakistani culture, Urdu language and poetry. He said Naat serves as a powerful means of expressing devotion and reverence towards Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
He underscored the role of Urdu language in preserving and promoting rich traditions of spiritual expression.
He also commended poets for their contribution in promoting Urdu poetry.
