Consul General Tariq Karim attended the annual event of Pakistani-Descent Physicians Society (PPS) in Oakbrook, Illinois. A large number of guests, including Congressmen Danny Davis and Jonathan Jackson, attended the event.
Speaking at the occasion, the Consul General commended the achievements and contributions of physicians of Pakistani descent in the U.S., highlighting their outstanding role in providing quality healthcare services and medical research. He said Pakistan has a long and rich history of producing remarkable professionals and physicians who have not only excelled in their respective fields but also made a significant impact in the lives of countless individuals across the world.
The Consul General highlighted the role of Pakistani-American community in the socio-economic development of both Pakistan and the U.S. He appreciated the PPS and Pakistani physicians for their healthcare and charitable services/projects, like free clinics/medical camps, particularly aimed at uplifting the underprivileged communities around the world. The Consul General urged them to demonstrate unity and continue investing back in Pakistan through their initiatives/projects in healthcare, education and research, capacity building and philanthropic work.
