Consul General Tariq Karim attended an Eid celebration event organized by the Pakistani American Association of Napervile (PAAN). A large number of community members and mayor Scot Wehrli of Napervile also attended the event.
In his remarks as chief guest, the Consul General lauded the contribution made by the Pakistani-American community to the socio-economic development of the two countries and their bridge-building role. He appreciated the PAAN leadership for their initiative to form a new organization to promote Pakistani culture and ensure welfare of the community. He also briefed about major priorities of the Consulate General and the growing partnership between Pakistan and the Midwest region. He encouraged the community members to continue investing back in Pakistan, while playing their active role in enhancing Pak-U.S. partnership. He also assured them the Consulate’s full support in this regard.
Consul General Tariq Karim also interacted with Mayor Scot and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
The event featured Pakistan’s rich culture, food and handicrafts, besides performance by Pakistani-American singer Asif Siddiqui.
