Consul General Tariq Karim attended a seminar to mark the 145th birth anniversary of the great philosopher and poet, Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal, today (November 09, 2022). The event, attended by members of the Pakistani-American community and Iqbal Society, was addressed by various speakers who paid homage to Allama Iqbal for his outstanding services and contribution. A cake cutting ceremony was also held.
Speaking at the occasion, Consul General Tariq Karim paid rich tribute to the great poet, philosopher and thinker. He stated that Allama Iqbal envisioned the idea of a separate homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent that ultimately led to the creation of Pakistan. The Consul General underscored that Allama Iqbal’s vision, poetry, thoughts and philosophy had a universal appeal which continue to inspire millions across the world. Highlighting the importance of revitalizing the message of Allama Iqbal, the Consul General said that Iqbal’s teachings were not constrained by time and could offer solution to the contemporary challenges.
