Consul General Tariq Karim participated in a webinar organized by Hyderabad-Toledo sister cities committee on “Exploring Glass Industry’s Path to Innovation”.

The webinar was attended by participants from Toledo (Ohio) and Hyderabad (Pakistan) including: Mr. Anwer Ali, Chair of Hyderabad-Toledo Sister City Committee; Ms. Jennifer Jarrett, CFO of Toledo Arts commission; and Mr. Younis Khatri, President of Hyderabad -Toledo Sister City Committee.

 
The speakers highlighted opportunities in promoting cooperation between Hyderabad and Toledo in diverse fields. A presentation was given on the evolution of glass industry and bangle craftsmanship in Hyderabad.

 
In his remarks as keynote speaker, Consul General Tariq Karim emphasized the significance of Pak-US economic and trade partnership and role of the vibrant Pakistani-American business community. He highlighted that Pakistan’s ties with the Midwest region were growing as reflected by rising trade, investment and people-to-people contacts.

 
The Consul General stated that Hyderabad-Toledo Sister City relationship provides an important platform to promote cooperation in diverse fields besides strengthening cultural linkages. He also highlighted the significance of glass industry and scope of cooperation between Toledo-known as glass capital of the world, and Hyderabad-famous for its glass industry and bangle craftsmanship. He briefed about the role of the Consulate in promoting businesses and assured the participants of the Consulate all possible support in this regard.
