The Consulate General of Pakistan participated in the International Festival of Cultures held in Bolingbrook, Illinois. The annual festival celebrates various cultures and traditions.
The Pakistani pavilion exhibited Pakistani arts, culture, handicrafts and dresses, and had Pakistani Chaunsa mangoes-famous for its aromatic fragrance and unparalleled taste-for visitors to taste. A Pakistani calligrapher, Mr. Javed Bhatty, wrote visitors names in Urdu.
The pavilion itself was aesthetically decorated with vibrant fabrics from different regions of Pakistan and Pakistani flags.
Consul General Tariq Karim welcomed visitors and highlighted Pakistan’s diverse cultural heritage and encouraged people to try Pakistani mangoes.
Mayor of Bolingbrook, Mary Alexander Basta, visited the Pakistani pavilion and thanked Consul General Tariq Karim for Consulate’s participation and enriching the festival with vibrant and beautiful colors of Pakistan.
Visitors to the Pakistani pavilion appreciated the display and enjoyed declicious Pakistani mangoes.
Children and guests were pleased to be able to have and take home a paper with their names written in the Urdu language.
