During his visit to Rockford (IL), Consul General Tariq Karim visited the Rockford University where he met with the President of the university, senior officials and faculty members.
The leadership of the university briefed the Consul General about the history and various programs taught at the institution. The Consul General highlighted his key priorities which, inter alia, included outreaching academic institutions with a view to promote institutional linkages and academic exchanges.
During the visit, the Consul General also visited the Muslim Association of Greater Rockford where he interacted with community members and highlighted the devastation caused by the climate-induced floods in Pakistan. He was briefed about the flood relief efforts of the Association.
In his visit to the Parks and Recreation office in Rockford, the Consul General highlighted popular Pakistani sports, including cricket, that may be added to the parks.
