Consul General Tariq Karim attended the launching ceremony of “Dhanak”, a collection of poetry of Chicago-based Urdu poet Abid Rasheed, at Glendale Heights Library in Illinois. The event, organized by Bridge Media -USA, was attended by poets and literary figures from across the Midwest region.
Speaking on the occasion, the Consul General appreciated the role of Pakistani Diaspora in promoting Pakistani culture, Urdu language and poetry. He stated that Dhanak was a valuable addition to Urdu poetry. He also highlighted Urdu as a key part of our dynamic culture, art and literature.
Consul General Tariq Karim was awarded a shield in recognition of his efforts to promote Urdu.
