Consul General Tariq Karim visited the MCC Academy in Morton Grove, Illinois. He was warmly received by the Academy’s leadership and given a detailed briefing about the Academy during a tour of the facility. Later he interacted with senior high school students at the Academy.
Consul General Tariq Karim briefed the students on contemporary diplomatic practice, the workings of the Consulate and his priorities as Consul General. He, inter alia, highlighted: Pakistan’s geo-strategic importance, its achievements and potential; various dimensions of Pakistan’s Foreign Policy; significance of Pak-US partnership and the role of vibrant Pakistani-American community.
The Consul General stated that Pakistan’s geographic location, its market size and demographic dividend, rich human and natural resources, liberal investment policies and rapidly growing tech sector have made Pakistan as an important business and investment destination. He also emphasized the tourism potential of the country.
During the interactive session, Consul General Tariq Karim addressed a range of questions on diverse subjects. He encouraged the students to persevere in their pursuit of academic excellence while also actively contributing to the betterment of society.
