Consul General Tariq Karim attended Pakistan Cultural Day, an Independence Day celebration in Maine Township. The event was attended by a large number of people, including elected officials. Speaking at the occasion, the Consul General, inter alia, highlighted: the historical significance of the Pakistan Independence Day; achievements Pakistan has made since independence,despite various challenges; Pakistan as an important business and tourist destination; significance of the Pak-US partnership; and role of the vibrant Pakistani-American community in the socio-economic development of the two countries. The event also had cultural performances by Pakistani singers.
