Consul General Tariq Karim interacted with Chicago Mayor-elect Brandon Johnson and other elected officials, including Cook County President and members of the Illinois legislature, at a community iftar event. The Consul General extended his warm congratulations to the newly-elected mayor of Chicago. He reiterated his desire to closely work with the city government to enhance mutually beneficial economic and civic partnership and people-to-people contacts between Pakistan and Chicago, which also has a Sister-City relationship with Lahore. During his interaction with the elected officials, the Consul General also emphasized the significance of Pak-US relationship and vibrant role of the Pakistani-American community.
