Seminar on “Pakistan’s Partnership with the US Midwest: Opportunities in Trade & Investment, Tourism & Education”

The Consulate General of Pakistan in Chicago, in collaboration with CAPRC (Central Asian Productivity Research Center), organized a Seminar on “Pakistan’s Partnership with the US Midwest: Opportunities in Trade & Investment, Tourism & Education”. The event was attended by a large number of entrepreneurs and CEOs, traders, tech executives, think-tank representatives, and prominent community members.
 
The speakers/ panelists included: Consul General Tariq Karim; CAPRC Board member Yuri Hoffman and Chairman of CAPRC Logistics Committee Capt. Shahid Naseer; Founder & CEO of Accentedge Syed Alam; East-West University Chancellor Dr. Wasiullah Khan; Founder/CEO of Byonyks Medical Devices Farrukh Usman; CEO of Health Data Management Platform Aamer Ghaffar; President of Miracle Salt Ahmad N Khan; President/Founder of Physicians Revenue Group (PRG) Mansoor Ahmed, PRG Vice President (Operations) Diane Schultz and PRG Marketing Manager Courtney Sustr.
 
Speaking at the occasion, Counsel General Tariq Karim emphasized economic diplomacy as one of his key priorities to enhance Pakistan’s partnership with the Midwest region. He stated that Pakistan’s geo-strategic location, its demographic dividend and market size, rich human and natural resources and liberal investment policies make Pakistan as an important business, trade and investment destination. He shared Pakistan’s success stories in various fields, including the rapid growth of tech ecosystem and IT. He also underscored Pakistan’s enormous tourism potential with a wide range of travel destinations. The Consul General highlighted Pakistan’s growing partnership with the Midwestern States, as reflected by rapidly increasing trade, investment and people- to- people interactions. He stated that there was an enormous potential between Pakistan and the Midwest region to further enhance ties in trade and investment, tech. and IT, healthcare, energy, agriculture, mineral exploration and education. The Consul General encouraged local investors, businessmen and professionals to benefit from business opportunities in Pakistan while assuring them the Consulate’s all possible support.
 
Other speakers/panelists briefed the participants about their expanding businesses/investments in Pakistan and success stories in diverse fields. The panelists highlighted that skilled and talented IT workforce, competitive cost advantage, rising start-up culture and English proficiency make Pakistan a preferred IT destination. They briefed about their rapidly growing operations in Pakistan in connection with outsourcing of IT services. The panelists also briefed about their projects/planned investments in Pakistan related to mineral exploration, manufacturing, tourism and education. They also highlighted Pakistan’s tourist potential and the hospitality of its people. The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session.
