The Consulate General of Pakistan participated in the International Festival of Cultures held in Bolingbrook, Illinois. The annual festival is one of the main events in Bolingbrook which brings various countries together showcasing their cultures and traditions. This year 14 countries participated in the festival.
The Pakistani pavilion exhibited Pakistani arts, culture and handicrafts, including a miniature Pakistani truck and rickshaw as well as Pakistani themed items, jewelry, bangles and mehndi. A Pakistani calligrapher wrote visitors names in Urdu.
The pavilion itself was aesthetically decorated with vibrant fabrics from different regions of Pakistan and Pakistani flags.
While visiting the Pakistan pavilion, the Mayor of Bolingbrook, Mary Alexander Basta, thanked Consul General Tariq Karim for participation and enriching the festival with vibrant and beautiful colors of Pakistan.
Consul General Tariq Karim welcomed visitors and highlighted Pakistan’s diverse cultural heritage, landscapes and hospitality of its people.
Visitors to the Pakistani pavilion appreciated the culture and handicrafts on display. They expressed keen interest in the exhibited items. Children and guests were pleased to be able to have their names written in the Urdu language and take home a bit of Pakistan to share with their families.
